CONTENT

  • Scripture – What process have you found to be most effective in studying God’s Word? What tools do you use in studying the Bible?
  • Theology – How would you describe the nature of man? What are the distinguishing features of a true Christ-follower?
  • Doctrine of Holiness – When does sanctification begin? What happens after sanctification?
  • History and Polity of the Church of the Nazarene – What Article of Faith is the easiest for you to describe? Why? What Article of Faith is the hardest for you to describe? Why?

COMPETENCY

  • Preaching / Teaching – What part of preaching / teaching is most enjoyable to you? Most difficult?
  • Discipleship – What does “ministry” mean to you? What is your philosophy of ministry?
  • Evangelism – How is the mission of the church related to evangelism? What strategies have you developed to reach those around you?

CHARACTER

  • Personal Growth – Describe the significant events or experiences during the past year that have been spiritual markers in your personal growth.
  • Ethics – What areas of a pastors life are most vulnerable in today’s world? What are you doing to actively live a life “above reproach”?
  • Family – What is your moral responsibility to your spouse and children as a pastor with responsibilities to a local congregation?

  • Contemporary Context and Social Environment – How should a “Holiness Church” exemplify Jesus intolerance of sin and His unconditional love for the sinner?
  • Missions – How do you envision the people in your immediate area as a mission field?
