CONTENT
- Scripture – What steps do you think are important in learning what the Bible says to contemporary people? What are 3 scriptural concepts people in today’s world struggle with most?
- Theology – What is your understanding of the work of Christ through his death and resurrection? How would you describe salvation to a contemporary person who has not grown up in the church?
- Doctrine of Holiness – What is most appealing to you about the doctrine of sanctification? What is most problematic for you?
- History and Polity of the Church of the Nazarene – What were the formative influences that brought the Church of the Nazarene into existence?
COMPETENCY
- Leadership and Administration – How do you most often deal with conflict in the church? What do people say about your ability to get along with others and to manage conflict? How do you rate the accuracy of their perceptions?
- Analytical Thinking – What are some of the approaches you have taken in solving problems? Example: What would you do if there was a misunderstanding between you and another person regarding a position you have taken?
- Pastoral Care and Counseling – What boundaries have you set to protect the integrity of your ministry with those of the opposite sex?
CHARACTER
- Personal Growth – Do you have a clearly defined set of life goals? What have you done recently to stretch yourself toward those goals?
- Pastoral Growth – What spiritual goals or understandings have your acknowledged in your pursuit of a life of holiness??
- Family – What steps are you taking to nurture your relationships at home?
CONTEXT
- Contemporary Context and Social Environment – What initiative have you taken to engage (or lead your church to engage) your secular community?
- Missions – What does David McKenna’s statement mean for the Church of the Nazarene when he says, “Every nation is a mission field, every church a mission outpost, and every Christian a missionary”? What does that statement mean to you?
