Questions for Candidates in Year One

Scripture – What scriptures have had the greatest impacted on your life and the understanding of your call to this point? How would you explain the authority of scripture?
Theology – Explain your understanding of the nature of God. How has that understanding developed over the past few years? In what ways are you being shaped for ministry by your view of the nature of God?
Doctrine of Holiness – How would you explain entire sanctification to a group of people new to the Church of the Nazarene?

Preaching / Teaching – What experience have you had in preaching or teaching the Word of God? How often?
Discipleship – How have you been involved in discipling others?
Evangelism – How would you describe effective evangelism in today’s world? How does your understanding of evangelism impact the way you live?

Personal Growth – What is your passion? How is that impacting you?
Ethics – What does it mean to be a person of integrity? How should personal integrity impact ministry?
Family – How does your spouse feel about your becoming a minister in the Church of the Nazarene?
Balance – Do you have a mentor who is currently helping you to regularly examine your life and your ministry development?

Missions – How do you (or would you) help the people under your leadership to understand the global mission of the Church of the Nazarene?
