MEN'S ADVANCE 2011

Speaker: Steve Scott, Sacramento District Superintendent
Steve & his wife Debbie are both native Californians. They first met on staff at a Northern Cal District Sr. Hi Camp in 1982. Steve is an alum of Point Loma Nazarene University (1977/B.A; 1980/M.A.), and Debbie is an alum of Northwest Nazarene University (1983/B.A.), and PLNU (1985/M.A.). They have two sons, Robert (20), and David (17), and a 110 lb. Rottweiler named Sir Drake. Their family has enjoyed snow skiing/snowboarding, as well as vacations throughout the eastern U.S. and in Hawaii.
Steve and Debbie have lived in San Diego, Auburn, & Stockton, CA during their 23 yrs of marriage. Debbie is an 8th grade public middle school teacher, credentialed in Language Arts. Steve served 8 yrs. on staff at Point Loma Nazarene University, 5 yrs. as Minister of Youth in Auburn, CA, and 13 yrs. as senior pastor in Stockton, CA. He has now served for 2 ½ years as District Superintendent of the Sacramento District Church of the Nazarene. During this time Steve has been involved in Summer Camp ministry for over 30 yrs.
Steve’s ministry passion is to be involved in strategically creating incarnational ministry to all types of multicultural and socio economic groups. He affirms the need for an effective, missional church to be a place of authentic worship, cultural diversity, and a desire to embrace whoever walks through the door with the love of Christ.
In his spare time, Steve attempts to create more spare time. If successful, he loves to chat with his wife, love on his boys, walk his dog, and find anything on TV that will give him a reason to laugh uncontrollably.
